LONDON — OnlyFans’ financials for the fiscal year ending Nov. 30, 2023 were revealed Thursday as part of a regulatory filing in Britain, including an estimate that they paid an average of almost $1,300 per creator in that year.
That average figure was first noted by entertainment industry trade Variety in a correction to a article about the continued success of OnlyFans, one of many in mainstream publications.
The Variety story focused on the impressive overall numbers, with OnlyFans reporting “record revenue and profits for fiscal year 2023 – while the number of creators rose 29% to 4.12 million. Gross payments through the OnlyFans platform increased 19% for the year ended November 30, 2023, from $5.55 billion in 2022 to $6.63 billion last year,” said the UK filing from OF parent company Fenix International.
The figures, Variety clarified, “represent payments made by OnlyFans users, net of applicable sales tax, refunds and deferred revenue.”
Based on these numbers, Variety reported that OnlyFans creators “earned a total payout of $5.32 billion in the most recent fiscal year, an average of nearly $1,300 per creator and a year-over-year increase of 19%. ”
The filing also tangentially addressed OnlyFans’ status as it relates to adult content creators.
“OnlyFans’ mission is to empower content creators to realize their full potential by building the safest social media platform and providing unparalleled opportunities to our user community,” the filing said. “The media content on OnlyFans.com can only be shared or accessed by registered users who are over 18 years of age and who have successfully completed the Creator or Fan onboarding process.”
OnlyFans “continues to receive significant media attention thanks to its new business model, including content policies and the success of many creators,” Fenix International wrote, pledging to “continue developing its public and government relations strategy to address misconceptions about the Group , as reported in the media.”
