The time has finally come last weekend! The Best Hot Sauce, Sambal and Chili Oil of the Netherlands 2025 was awarded and we were there. And not without results, because we took home two prizes! Check them out here.
Dutch Chili Fest
This year we were present again at the Dutch Chili Fest in Eindhoven. Dutch Chili Fest is the hottest chili festival in the Netherlands with thousands of visitors each year. We’re there annually with our stand, where everyone can come by to check out our range of sauces and taste them, of course.
Besides the many stands, this is also the place where the award for the best hot sauce, sambal and, starting this year, the best chili oil is presented annually. We also competed this year for two great titles: Best Hot Sauce 2025 and Best Chili Oil 2025. All submitted hot sauces, chili oils and sambals were judged by a 7-member expert jury consisting of chefs, hot sauce makers and enthusiasts. They taste the sauces blind and then evaluate them on different aspects.
Best Chili Oil 2025
We started with the Chili Oil award ceremony. And yes, our brand new Crispy Chili Oil was a huge hit with the jury. Despite the fierce competition, our crispy chili oil came out as the winner.
And the competition was indeed fierce, as evidenced by the second and third place winners for best chili oil. These chili oils are also perfectly flavored and nicely spicy. That’s why they’ve been in our assortment for a while ;-).

Best Hot Sauce 2025
After presenting the best sambal and best chili oil, it was time for the Best Hot Sauce of 2025 award ceremony. The tension was rising, but we quickly discovered that we had created a winner with The Sunny Hot Sauce. The expert jury was incredibly enthusiastic about this summery, fruity sauce. A huge compliment, of course.
The bar was set very high in this category too. Many hot sauce brands AND amateurs participated in the competition, but in this top three we also found a familiar name: the Brain Buzzer from Raijmakers Heetmakers. Do you like it really spicy? Then this is a must-try!
